We've stayed at this lodge twice and have had good experiences both times - convenient location, cozy setting, and satisfies our basic needs for comfort and hot foods after being outdoors all day. The owner and staff are all genuine and welcoming. During our most recent stay the restaurant was mandated to shutdown in the middle of our trip, but the owner was very thoughtful and kept the kitchen open just for guests to ensure that our stays were unaffected. The lodge experience is somewhere between camping and a motel - it's quite charming with it's cabin-feel decorations and the staff's service is casual and down to earth. You should bring your own toiletries whether you opt for the shared or in-room bathrooms. Will definitely stay here again!

After driving past this place for almost 50 years heading to Camp Richardson, my curiosity finally got to me and I decided to drop in. And I'm glad I did. It has been a stopover ever since. As you enter there is a huge bear to greet you. They have a great fireplace. The woody interior is so quaint. The bar area is so welcoming and the restaurant has the best hamburgers ever. Nice clean restrooms. And taking a walk around the place I found some great fishing holes out back and a very soothing river t rest your eyes upon after a long drive. And a wide grassy knoll to rest for awhile. I really love this place.

Strawberry Lodge is a place in the town of Strawberry; no joke. There is an actual town in California named Strawberry. It literally has the population of about 50 people maybe (?); such a small town and I'm sure everybody knows everybody. Now, if you were to ask Siri the population, she states that the population is over 5000 people; um trust me, that's highly inaccurate. Anyways, my husband and I were driving to Tahoe and we stopped at the Strawberry Lodge for lunch. The Strawberry Lodge has rooms for rent as well as a restaurant. The Lodge itself is very rustic and has two bathrooms which are somewhat dirty and kind of gross. My husband and I scanned the menu and found some things we both wanted to eat for lunch so we agreed to eat here. The restaurant contained some locals; rugged mountain men with long breads that wore flannel type clothing. The service was quick and the prices weren't too bad. The food was amazing (who would've thought)!! The chips and salsa we ordered was the freshest and most mild salsa (which I love) that I have ever tasted. My husband loved his main course and I loved my salad too. We both left the restaurant feeling satisfied with what we ordered and promised to come here again the next time we are driving this way. Love the food, loved the service and I feel eager to try out more items on the menu. Recommend.
